Mrs. Eason

Marjorie Melissa Wooten and Christopher Ryan Eason were united in holy matrimony Saturday, July 17 at 7 p.m.

Eric Geil and Ryan Rasmussen officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graham Wooten of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John H. Johnson and the late Mr. Johnson of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elton Graham Wooten of Rocky Mount.

Parents of the groom are Donnie Allen Eason of Farmville and the late Katharine Overby Eason. He is the grandson of Mrs. H.M. Bowen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Henry Overby Jr.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless couture gown of white duchess satin adorned with silver embroidery and crystals.

For her headpiece, she chose a crystal tiara with a walking-length veil. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, orchids and lily of the valley.

Karin Earp Coble, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mildred Maxwell Pelletier, Susan Dunlap Stackhouse, Eleanor Katherine Spicer, Elizabeth Morgan Rockwell, Laura Porcher Hine, Christian Danielle Thomas and Julie Kendall George.

Donnie Allen Eason Jr. was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Graham John Wooten and John Marvin Wooten, brothers of the bride, and George Taylor Grimes, Benjamin Clark Dilda, Glen Travis Webb, Johnny Randy Corbitt and Michael Glen Carraway, friends of the groom.

Mrs. James Johnston Doss directed the ceremony.

Greeters were Jessica Collins, Jamie Roberson and Adrienne Parker.

A program of wedding music was provided by Paul Cunningham, organist; Scott Pagona, trumpeter; and Kristin Shearin, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Wayne Country Day School and a 2004 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of fine arts degree.

The groom graduated from Farmville Central High School and East Carolina University in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in computer science.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Goldsboro Country Club.

On July 16, a bridesmaids’ luncheon was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bryant Stackhouse.

Friends and family of the groom held a party June 19 in Greenville.

On April 30, friends of the bride held an engagement party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Butler Franklin.

The groom’s father held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.
