GREENSBORO — Keri Michelle Yahnker of Greensboro became the bride of Preston Elliott Strickland June 26 at 1 p.m.

The Rev. Carl Utley officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Starmount Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Ed and Lee Yahnker of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Margaret Thompson of Doylestown, Pa., Mary Yahnker of Greenville, the late James Thompson and the late William Yahnker.

Parents of the groom are Kent and Judy Strickland of Asheboro.

Given in marriage and escorted by her parents, the bride wore a strapless long princess white dress with beading on the tulle overlay.

For her headpiece, she chose a crystal tiara with a cathedral veil.

Rianne Zuehlke was matron of honor. Joyce Graves was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dagney Shiltz and Tish Yahnker, sister-in-law of the bride.

Barry Strickland was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Chris Yahnker and Jake Yahnker, brothers of the bride. Groomsmen were Geoff Crawford, Stewart Roberts and Lee Roberts.

Lisa Helton and Lynne Brandon directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Kasey Morse. Glynis Bell distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mike Hill, organist, and Kevin and Melissa Sevigny, violinists.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Greensboro.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2000 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in textile technology. She attends the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a master’s degree in marketing. She is employed as a project engineer with Technimark.

The groom graduated from Asheboro High School and Greensboro Technical Community College with an associate’s degree. He served in the Air Force. He is employed as an airframe and powerplant technician with Timco.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 25 at Anton’s Italian Restaurant of Greensboro. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

On June 19, Joyce Graves held a bridal brunch.

Lee Roberts, Jenny Meredith, Geoff Crawford, Stewart and Cheryl Roberts, Jim and Carrie Cleek, Jeff and Donna Crisco and Seth Campbell held a pig picking June 5 in Asheboro.

On May 22, Dagney Shiltz and Carrie Lubus held a bachelorette party.

Amy Plyler and Kay Dalton held a bridal shower April 24.

On April 16, Unifi employees held a wedding shower.
