PIKEVILLE — Karen Elizabeth Gooding of Pikeville and Timothy Michael Martin were united in holy matrimony May 29 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Tom Dorman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Antioch Original Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Darlene Marlowe Gooding of Fremont and Edward Carlton Gooding of Princeton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Gooding of Pikeville, Harold Marlowe and Jenette Rains of Rosewood and the late Dorothy Jean Marlowe.

The groom is the son of Debrah Ann Martin of Pikeville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Martin of Pikeville.

Given in marriage by Keith Gooding and escorted by her uncle, the bride wore a white satin gown with a halter fitted bodice embellished with appliquéd Alencon lace sequins and seed pearls. The A-line skirt was adorned with matching appliquéd lace and pearls and cascaded to a cathedral-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara adorned with appliquéd Alencon lace, seed pearls and crystals that extended to an illusion and scattered pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of satin white roses and calla lilies accented with cascading white ribbons.

Heather Gooding, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Watkins, friend of the couple, and Markie Baker, friend of the bride.

John Martin was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Jason Camioni, friend of the groom, and Keith Gooding.

Kristian Marlowe, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Trenton Marlowe, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Judy Gooding, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Ashley Cambell, friend of the bride.

Special helpers were Pat Raper and Rhonda Baker, friends of the couple.

After a wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed as a cook with Double D’s.

The groom graduated from Job Corp of Asheville. He is employed as a log yard utility man with Georgia Pacific.

A pig picking rehearsal dinner was held at the home of Carlton and Mattie Gooding, grandparents of the bride.
