CHAPEL HILL — Anne Clement Pegram and Ian Chandler Binns were married Saturday, May 22 at 4:30 p.m.

The Rev. Philip Freeman Wiehe officiated at the ceremony at Chapel of the Cross, assisted by the Rev. Steven R. Stanley.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Clement Pegram of Mount Olive.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Surmann of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Livingston Binns III of Edenton.

Elizabeth Emmons Pegram of Arlington, Va., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Thomas Deeds of Kaiserslautern, sister of the groom, and Lela Manning Urquhart of Stanford, Conn.

Bart Alton Chamberlin of Corpus Christi, Texas, was best man. Groomsmen were Derek Lloyd Bryant of Nashville, Tenn, and Edward Anthony Weeks of Raleigh. Ushers were Gary Wain Pelletier of Holly Springs and Andrew Christopher Pronko of Hoboken, N.J.

McLean Kalin Dowell and Aiden Carmelo Dowell of Atlanta, Ga., nephews of the groom, were ring bearers.

Harvey Livingston Binns III, father of the groom, was the reader.

Distributing programs were Shannon Jones, Kimberly Lagemann, Lucy Melvin, Elizabeth Raygor and Caroline Williams.

A program of wedding music was provided by William Bryant Hayes of Goldsboro, organist; Paul Michael Neebe of Durham, trumpeter; and the Schola Cantorum of Diocese of East Carolina.

After a wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga., the couple will reside in Charlottesville, Va.

The bride is a graduate of the North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as a therapist at Duke Hospital. She will be employed at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

The groom graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School and North Carolina State University. He will attend the University of Virginia for a Ph.D. is science education. He is employed at a teacher at Enloe High School.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Chapel Hill Country Club. Leslie Boyd and Michelle Hayes, cousins of the bride, cut the wedding cake.

On May 22, the bride’s aunts held a casual lunch at Chapel of the Cross parish hall.

Charlotte Campbell, Liz Meador and Jean Siler held a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 21 at Market Cafe at Fearrington Village.

On May 21, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Horace Williams House of Chapel Hill.

Co-workers of the bride held a shower April 30 at Duke Hospital.

Rosa Lee Baisey, Janet Boschen, Thelma Briley, Sandy Davis, Mary June Phelps, Cindy Vaughan, Bettie Walston and Chrystal White held a shower April 24 at Sandy Run Baptist Church of Roxobel.

On April 23, Helen Holt, Dr. and Mrs. Rupert Jilcott, Dr. and Mrs. Colin Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Overton and Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler held a cocktail buffet at the Overton home of Green Plains, Aulander.

A dinner was held March 19 at Goldsboro Country Club.
