Lisa Marie Darden and Charles Aaron Parker exchanged promises Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m.

Julia Weeks officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the Bethany House of Waynesborough Historical Village.

The bride is the daughter of Willie Darden of Mount Olive and Barbara Stallings of Dudley. She is the granddaughter of Sudie Jones of Goldsboro, the late Willie Lewis Darden and Audrey Darden of Dudley and the late Robert Edward Stallings of LaGrange.

Parents of the groom are Stephen and Norma Crooker of Pikeville. He is the grandson of the late Charles Belanger and Dorothy Belanger of Buxton, Maine, Paul and Pauline Parker of New Gloucester, Maine, and the late Leland Crooker and Leona Crooker of Gray, Maine.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white princess gown with lace and pearls at the empire waistline and a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of diamonds and pearls with an elbow-length double veil attached. She carried a clutch bouquet of silk peach roses and wildflowers.

Marcie Roy of Mount Olive, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Robert Darden of Goldsboro was his friend’s best man.

Samantha Nicholle and Amber Renee’ Priestly of Goldsboro, daughters of the bride, were flower girls. Caleb Elijah Parker of Dudley, son of the groom, was Bible carrier.

Presiding at the register, distributing programs and bubbles and sound technician was Kelly Holmes, friend of the couple.

Monica Eason, friend of the family, was a special helper.

After a wedding trip to Maine, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the American Legion banquet hall. Laura Moon and Carrie Carraway, friends of the groom’s mother, and Barbara Warren were servers. Richard Darden, brother of the bride, made introductions. Marcie Roy and Robert Darden cut and served the wedding cake.

On May 13, a rehearsal dinner was held at Madison’s. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

The groom’s mother held a lingerie shower April 18 at her home.
