Bobbi Tanise Boatwright and Quentin Ramon Wade of Goldsboro were united in holy marriage April 10 at 3 p.m.

Bishop Alton A. Smith officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Mark Church of Christ.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Boatwright. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Yelverton of Montclair, N.J., and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hill of Snow Hill.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Waiters of Charleston, S.C. He is the grandson of Rebecca Frazier of Charleston.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin A-line gown with an apron back and an organza inset. The bodice and train were embellished with metallic beaded embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose a fresh water pearl and rhinestone tiara with a veil. She carried a bouquet of an assortment of fresh cream vadella roses and melon vendella roses.

DiJuana Roach of Charlotte, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Miranda Cox, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Akua Jackson of Dudley, SaKinah Calder of Roselle, N.J., Shafeqah Calder of Newark, N.J., and Sonya Blackwell of Greensboro, cousins, and Malika Thomas of Charlotte and Kinite Holt of Washington D.C., friends.

Derrick Gray and Larry Gray were their friend’s best men. Groomsmen were Theodis Roach of Charlotte, Tevor McClain of Greensboro and Marvin Jackson of Dudley, friends; David Thornton of Indianapolis, Ind., friend of the bride; and William Yelverton of Montclair and Carl Hobbs of Adelphi, Md., cousins of the bride. Ushers were Alrafiq Calder of Newark, Leonard Newsome and Brandon Newsome of Plainfield, N.J., Jade Campbell of Snow Hill and Cameron Horne of Greenville.

Qieara Lesesne of Raleigh and Mara Suggs of Hampton, Va., were flower girls. Joshua Spruce of Hillside, N.J., and T.J. Kornegay were ring bearers.

Andrea Rogers directed the ceremony.

Hostesses were Danielle Wade, niece of the groom; Monique Lyons; Shemura Suggs; Jasmine Blackwell of Greensboro and Shemeisha McClain, cousins of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Frank Jones, pianist, and Renita Allen, sorority sister, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Goldsboro High School, a 2000 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and a 2003 graduate of East Carolina University with a master’s degree in elementary education. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and North Carolina Association of Educators. She is employed as a third grade teacher at Eastern Wayne Elementary School.

The groom graduated from Burke High School of South Carolina in 1990 and North Carolina Wesleyan with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He attended St. Augustine’s of Raleigh. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is employed as director of allied health and human resources at Wayne Community College.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Director was Jerri Thomas, friend of the bride.

Out-of-town guests were from Charlotte and Greensboro; South Carolina; Maryland; New Jersey; and New York.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner April 9 at St. March Church. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

On April 9, the groomsmen held a bachelor party.

The bridal party held a bachelorette party April 9.

On March 27, Miranda Cox and sorority members held a kitchen and recipe shower at the Royal Tea Rooms.

Lavon Boatwright, Debra Ann Uzzell and Linda McLean held a miscellaneous shower March 20 at the home of the bride’s parents.

On March 9, co-workers held a miscellaneous shower at Eastern Wayne Elementary School.

Toni Newsome held a miscellaneous shower March 7 at her home in Plainfield.

On Feb. 7, DiJuana Roach held a romantic shower at her home in Charlotte.
