SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Amanda Meredith Morgan and Norman Shaun Smith pledged their marriage vows May 1 at 3 p.m.

Dr. Steve Morgan officiated at the double-ring ceremony at United Methodist Church of the Covenant.

Russell and Pamela Morgan of Spartanburg are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Joy Pate and the late Melvin Pate of Goldsboro and the late Bruce and Elizabeth Morgan of High Falls, N.Y., and the great-granddaughter of Ruby Lee Smith of Goldsboro.

Norman and Patricia Smith of Spartanburg are parents of the groom.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-length ivory dress with beaded straps and a three-foot train accented with beads and appliquéd flowers.

For her headpiece, she chose a halo accented with cream roses. She carried a cascading bouquet with star fighter lilies and baby roses.

Meghan Chaney was maid of honor. Chelsea White was the bridesmaid.

Jeff McDowell was best man. Jarrod Leuck was the groomsman.

Sheila Gillespie directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Ronda Revels. Alex and Sydney Kentopp distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Allen Trapp and the Reedy Branch Boys, vocalists, and the Covenant Ringers handbell choir.

After a wedding trip to Atlanta, Ga., the couple is residing in Spartanburg.

The bride is a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. She attended Spartanburg Technical College’s nursing program. She is employed as a legal assistant with Adams Law Firm.

The groom graduated from Boiling Springs High School. He is employed as a technician with Lighten Up.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Dogwood House of Inman, S.C.

A pig picking was held at the home of the groom’s parents.
