GREENVILLE — Kimberly Suzette Gilmore of Goldsboro and Matthew Enoch Hughes pledged their promises April 10 at 2 p.m.

Daniel Pate officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is the daughter of Roy Wayne and Sharon Lofton Gilmore of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Ted and Betty Jean Donnelly of Walterboro, S.C., and Ed and Nita Lofton of Brookhaven, Miss.

The groom is the son of Enoch Arren and Marlene Daniels Hughes of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Alma Daniels and Doris Hughes of Goldsboro, the late Marvin Daniels and the late James Hughes.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder white gown with a sweetheart neckline and a Basque waist. The tulle skirt was adorned with beaded lace appliqués and extended into a full chapel-length rain with lace edging.

For her headpiece, she chose an illusion veil attached to a comb with hand-sewn clusters of pearls.

Lindsey Gilmore, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Gilmore, sister of the bride; Alyson Lofton, cousin of the bride; and Cori Hughes, friend of the bride.

Enoch Hughes was best man. Ushers were Scott Hughes, brother of the groom and Andy Johnson, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Enoch Hughes, father ofthe groom; Scott Hughes, brother of the groom; and Andy Johnson, friend of the groom.

Carly Cagle was flower girl.

Suzanne Cagle directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Stephanie Sexton,

Special helpers were Ben Huey and Tyler Lofton.

After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and criminal justice. She is employed as a special education teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1992, Wayne Community College in 1997 with an associate’s degree in drafting and design engineering technology and East Carolina University in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology. He is employed as a product applications specialist with Impulse Inc.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

On April 9, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Lakeview Steakhouse of Greer, S.C.

Cammi Jones and Lori Tillman held a Pampered Chef shower March 6.

On Feb. 15, Marlene Hughes, Jean Bass and Cori Hughes held a miscellaneous shower.

Nita Lofton, Suzanne Cage, Sharon Lofton and Alyson Lofton held a miscellaneous shower Jan. 18 in Brookhaven.
