FARO — Miranda Jeanette Collins of Pikeville and Durwood Scott Beasley said their promises May 15 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Eddie McKeel officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Kevin and Sandra Ulrey of Pikeville and Lionel and Karen Collins of Nahunta. She is the granddaughter of Lester and Lois McKeel of Faro, Willie and Pauline Collins of Goldsboro, Natalie Foote Ulrey of Virginia Beach, Va., the late Charles Steward of Fyfe, Ala., and Stan and Dorothy Perkins of Rosewood.

Ray and Linda Beasley of Pikeville are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Needham Beasley and the late Virginia Beasley and Ester Beasley of Goldsboro and the late Albert and Ethel Mae Corbett of Pikeville.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white matte satin with a strapless bodice embellished with appliquéd lace and seed pearls. The A-line skirt was embellished with matching appliquéd lace and seed pearls that cascaded to a cathedral-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a silver crescent of rhinestones and pearl flowers with a cathedral-length veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered rhinestones. She carried a cascading bouquet of silk white roses, gardenias and blue azaleas.

Kerri Crawford Steers of Pikeville, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Washam of Pikeville, friend of the bride, and Tammy Wingard of Pikeville, sister of the groom.

Adam Busdieker of Pikeville was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Michael Porter of New Haven, N.Y., friend of the groom, and Christopher Turnage of Savannah, Ga., brother of the bride. Kyle Wingard of Pikeville, nephew of the groom, was the usher.

Whitley Nicole Henderson of Raleigh, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride. Justin Edgerton of Nahunta, nephew of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Shannon Evans of Faro, cousin of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Melissa Edgerton of Nahunta, sister-in-law of the bride. Christopher Wingard of Pikeville, nephew of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Lynn Evans of Water Branch, friend of the couple, sound coordinator.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Rosewood.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed as a child care provider.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2001. He is employed in shipping and receiving with Cooper-Standard.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Betty Smith and Janet Edgerton of Goldsboro, Diane Whitley of Faro and Georgie Gross of Graham, aunts of the bride, and Javita Henderson of Raleigh, cousin of the bride, were helpers. Damian Henderson of Raleigh, nephew of the bride, distributed bubbles.

On May 14, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the church fellowship hall.

A luncheon was held May 9 at Pizza Inn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

On April 24, a pig picking was held at the home of the bride’s father and stepmother.

The groom’s mother and sister held a miscellaneous shower April 18 at the home of the groom’s mother.

On April 4, the bride’s mother and stepmother held a miscellaneous shower at Faro Chapel Church.
