LUCAMA — Tanya Leigh Weeks of Dudley and Jamie Dee Barnes of Dudley were united in holy matrimony Saturday, May 15.

De Eakes officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Little Rock Original Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Edwin and Virginia Weeks of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Price of Wayne County and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter D. Weeks of Halifax County.

Parents of the groom are the late Delton and Sarah Barnes. He is the grandson of the late Dalma and Eveline Ferrell and the late George and Nana Barnes of Lucama.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin princess gown with a sweetheart neckline bodice and short sleeves of re-embroidered lace appliqués with seed pearls and sequins. The princess skirt had lace and flowed into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion with a crown of pearls and sequins. She carried a cascading bouquet of yellow roses and white daisies.

Pam Froehlich of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Myra Gooding of Pikeville, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Wayne Joyner of Wilson was his friend’s best man. Jason Tant of Sims, nephew of the groom, was the usher.

Amanda Bell of Rocky Mount directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Vennetta Sanders of Pikeville. Heavenly Edwards of Goldsboro distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Ann Sprinkle of Hickory, pianist, and Steve Vann of Goldsboro, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Dudley.

The bride is a 1988 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed as front desk manager with Days Inn of Goldsboro.

The groom graduated from J.B. Hunt High School in 1988. He is employed as a private contractor.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Heritage Hall.

On May 8, Edith King held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Royal Tea Rooms.

Pam Froehlich held a bachelorette party May 8.

On April 25, family and friends of the bride held a miscellaneous shower.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Mayflower Restaurant.
