Taylor-Worrell
ATLANTIC BEACH —Lee Borden Worrell of Raleigh and William Kennedy Taylor IV of Wilmington were married April 24 at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Eugene Carpenter and the Rev. Deacon Gloria Price officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Francis By The Sea Episcopal Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Anthony Worrell of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Arabel Cox Zealy and Marjorie Davis Worrell of Goldsboro, the late Murray Borden and the late Waitus Worrell.
The groom is the son of Bettina Lutz Taylor of Raleigh and William Kennedy Taylor III of Lexington, S.C. He is the grandson of Edna Dellinger Lutz of Bardstown, Ky., the late David Lutz and Mrs. and Mrs. William Kennedy Taylor Jr. of Kinston.
The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.
Ashley Taylor Wall of Wilmington, sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Vinson Carr, Betsy Miller Blake and Duval Holderness Reams of Raleigh, Marjorie Clark Fickling of Goldsboro, Jennifer Moore Jarrett of Charleston, S.C., and Sarah Kimball Wood of Charlotte.
William Kennedy Taylor III was his son’s best man. Ushers were Benjamin Evans Wall of Wilmington, brother-in-law of the groom; Jacob Chapman Mann and Mark Lewis Barnett of Greenville, S.C.; Richard Allen Mozingo of Kinston; Justin Hamilton Claytor of Charlotte; Ryan Stephen Joyner, Jason Grant Warner and Samuel Arthur Hooker Manning of Raleigh; and George Anthony Worrell Jr. of Clermont, Fla., brother of the bride.
Mrs. James J. Doss of Goldsboro directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Hope Lamm Conway of Wilmington.
Elizabeth Hopkins Royal of Goldsboro was crucifer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol McVitty, organist.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Wilmington.
The bride is a graduate of Peace College and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in elementary education.
The groom graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in business. He is self-employed with Port City Professional Employers.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the beach home of the bride’s parents in Morehead City.
The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at the Coral Bay Club of Atlantic Beach.
Family and friends held a rehearsal dance at Coral Bay Club.
