PREP GIRLS' TENNIS: Rosewood nets non-league win

FAYETTEVILLE -- Rosewood halted a season-opening, two-match skid with an 8-1, non-conference conquest of Cape Fear Christian Academy.

Sydney Reiss, Kailey Hilton, Lexi Clucas, Emily Kornegay and Alyssa Vinyard-Lowery each earned a singles point for the Eagles.

The teams played eight-game pro sets.

Rosewood swept the doubles behind Riley Maldonado-Hilton, Clucas-Reiss and Kornegay-Kimber Jones.

Cape Fear Christian is coached by Rosewood alum Jay James.

The Eagles (1-2 overall) entertain Harnett Central on Monday.
