WILSON -- Alston Pittman and TJ Harris silenced Wayne County Post 11's hot-hitting offense Tuesday evening.

The duo combined for a two-hitter as Wilson Post 13 prevailed 9-3 in Game 2 of their Area I East Division semifinal-round series at venerable Fleming Stadium.

Game 3 is tonight at Wayne Academy.

Pittman limited Wayne County to three runs (two earned) on two hits and six walks in six innings of work. Harris, a SouthWest Edgecombe graduate, earned the save with one inning of no-hit relief.

"It's baseball. It happens," Post 11 head coach Adam Pate said. "[Pittman] was good, but we hit a lot of balls right at people. Wilson played very well and swung the bat well."

Down 2-0, Wayne County leveled the game in the third inning.

Jack Casbarro scampered home on a wild pitch and Blake Gipson knocked in Chance Howard with an RBI single to left field.

Wilson moved back in front 3-2 in its half of third.

Post 11 fell apart in the fourth.

Four errors allowed fourth-seeded Wilson (7-8 overall) to plate six runs -- three unearned. Post 13 also benefited from doubles by Silas Gonzalez and Matt Jacobs, a hit batsman and a fielder's choice.

The barrage chased starter Aryc Chrisman from the mound. He permitted seven runs (three earned) on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Kolby Harris recorded the final out in the fourth.

Ryan Sullivan kept Wilson off the board with two-plus innings of relief. He induced an inning-ending groundout in the sixth.

Top-seeded Wayne County (22-3) mustered little offense during the final four innings.

Pittman retired the side in order in the fourth and fifth innings. He surrendered an RBI sacrifice fly to Christian Yarbrough in the sixth.

Harris coaxed Post 11 into a game-ending double play after Casbarro drew a lead-off walk.
