Rosewood's brother combination of Christian and Tim Decatur received the 19th and 20th Lee Carroll Award for excellence in athletics, academics and sportsmanship in eastern North Carolina this past season. The Takedown Report editor Martin Fleming and Lee Carroll recognized the brothers during the Eagles' final home baseball game of 2018. Tim is a two-time state champion and has a three-year career record of 177-8. He is 34 wins shy of tying the school career wins record of 211 set by Nick Quillen. Christian emerged as the state 1-A champ at 106 pounds this season. He broke the county's single-season record for victories (62) formerly held by Quillen and Eastern Wayne alum Travis Turner, who shared the record at 61. Christian has 118 career victories. The brothers compete in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling tournaments all year on the local, state and national levels.
