Senior guard Conner Vernon scored 18 points on Tuesday to lead Rosewood High School past Franklin Academy, 53-44, in opening-round play of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A basketball playoffs.
Michael Reid and Marquel Vaughn finished with 10 points apiece for RHS (17-7), which travels to face Granville Central (13-11) and high-flying freshman guard Terence Harcum this evening.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
