Junior forward Isaiah Wilder scored 15 points on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to propel host Goldsboro past East Central 2A powerhouse Clinton High.
Tyzhaun Claude added 13 points for the Cougars, who fell to 16-3 overall and 7-2 in league play with the loss.
GHS travels to face Wallace-Rose Hill on Friday night.
