Such was the case on Friday, as Goldsboro High overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to pick up its first triumph as a member of the newly-formed East Central 2A conference.
The 79-68 triumph moved the Cougars to 7-0 overall this season.
Tyzhaun Claude paced the Cougars with 23 points, while Isaiah Wilder finished with 17 points. Christian Bullock and DJ Waters also substantiated the furious finish, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Goldsboro, now 7-0 and 1-0 in league play, next faces Wayne Christian on Dec. 28 at the FCA Winter Classic at the University of Mount Olive.
