PREP GOLF: CBA takes 2nd in Invitational

Triton's Katherine Elliott earned medalist honors with a 9-over-par 41 during the Wayne County Invitational contested at Lane Tree Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
CBA's Abby Sauls and Cleveland's Darby Reeder shared second place identical nine-hole rounds of 48. North Johnston's Caroline Baker and Princeton's Casey Mitchell each shot a 50 and tied for fifth place.
Triton claimed the team portion with a 154, followed by the host Golden Falcons (160), Cleveland (161), North Johnston (173), Midway (179) and Rosewood (210).
Wayne Christian participated and turned in a 153. Karsyn Roberts led the Eagles with a 45. Grace Buddin carded a 53, followed by Bri Verme with a 55. Caroline Jones (58), Annalise Fitzmorris (61) and Paige Court (63) also battled the challenging LTGC links.
RHS head coach Shay Campbell said 37 girls participated in the meet.
