MOUNT OLIVE -- Nolan Harrell plated the eventual game-winning run and Wayne County Post 11 pulled off a nail-biting 7-6 victory over Area I East Division nemesis Kinston Post 43 at Scarborough Field on the University of Mount Olive campus Monday evening.

Tied at 6-6 through 31/2 innings, WC's Tanner Wells drew a one-out walk and stole second to start the bottom half of the fourth inning. Harrell delivered a run-scoring single -- his second hit of the night and team-leading third RBI of the game.

Post 11 starter Kolby Harris yielded six runs (three earned) and surrendered nine hits during his 103-pitch, eight-inning performance. Wells earned his fourth save of the season with one inning of one-strikeout relief.

Harrell's first-inning two-RBI triple pushed lead-off batter Jack Casbarro and Tyler Daniels, who each singled, across the plate. Harrell trotted home on Carlyle Smith's double.

WC added three runs in the second.

Tanner Bradley walked and took second on Patrick Jones' sac bunt. Casbarro singled and Daniels was hit by a pitch to load the sacks. Wells collected an RBI bases-loaded free pass to score Bradley.

Jones trotted home on Harrell's sac fly. Neal capped the three-run outburst with a single.

Kinston answered with a six-run fourth-inning uprising.

A hit batsman, error, double, triple and walk allowed Post 43 to knot the ballgame at 6-6.

"One bad inning...again," Post 11 head coach Jason Sherrer said. "It was crazy man."

Harris posted zeroes on the board during the next four innings, which set the table for Wells to secure Wayne County's third straight win of the season.

Post 11 swept the two-game regular-season set for the second consecutive year and leads the all-time series 74-29.

Wayne County (8-6 overall, 5-1 East) entertains Edenton on Thursday, and is the guest of Ahoskie for a doubleheader on Saturday.
