PREP BASEBALL: Peacock throws one-hit gem

SALEMBURG -- Jonathan Peacock threw a complete-game one-hitter as Rosewood escaped Lakewood, 2-0, on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Tuesday evening.
Peacock retired 11 Leopards on strikeouts and walked four during his 81-pitch outing that included 59 strikes. Offensively, he batted 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Derek Neal added two hits and an RBI. Chance Howard, Tanner Bradley, Boone Moody (RBI) and Stalen Massengill contributed one hit apiece.
The Eagles (12-2 overall, 9-0 CC) return to action Saturday against Southern Wayne in the Golden Leaf Invitational. First pitch is 12:30 p.m. at historic Fleming Stadium in Wilson.
