Langley Barnes posted career highs for single-game goals (five) and total points (14) during Wayne Country Day's 10-1 romp over Pope John Paul in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference match Tuesday.

Barnes scored in the fourth minute off of Ally Willman's assist. Hayden Nielsen notched the eventual game-winning goal off Barnes' assist one minute later.

Nielsen finished with a hat trick (three goals) and one assist.

Willman delivered one goal and two assists. Jala Holloman punched in one goal. Martie Rose and Mary Scott Best each dished out an assist.

"It was a nice win leading into tomorrow's game with Greenfield," Chargers head coach Steve Ellis said. "We have to work on a few things like communication and being a little more clinical in front of the goal. We had 36 shots today, which is great, but sometimes we made the wrong decision in front of the goal."
