SOFTBALL: CBA wins wild affair against North Johnston

PIKEVILLE -- Hannah Vinson batted 3-for-3 with five RBI, and C.B. Aycock turned back North Johnston, 11-10, in a wild non-conference battle Thursday evening.
Mookie Powell and Cassandra Lassiter (three RBI) registered three hits apiece for the Golden Falcons, who remained unbeaten in five outings this season.
Connor Vinson went 2-for-4.
Allison Shingleton started inside the circle and permitted three walks during two innings of work. Taylor Waddell (3-0) claimed the win with five innings of five-strikeout, seven-walk relief.
Aycock entertains Southern Wayne today. Game time is 6 p.m.
