BASEBALL: Falcons soar past Warriors

WINTERVILLE -- Eastern Wayne scratched out five hits during its 12-2 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe South Central on Thursday afternoon.
Landon Ginn, Tanner Wells, Colby Miller, Andrew Fricks and Nathan Bell each had a hit for the Warriors. Ginn and Miller supplied one RBI apiece.
Ginn, Fricks and Bell each saw time on the hill. The trio combined for a seven-hitter and five strikeouts. South Central plated four unearned runs and drew nine walks on the day.
Bell took the loss.
