OUTDOOR TRACK: Hamilton leads EW girls

FRANKLINTON -- Eastern Wayne's Sharadiant Hamilton posted a pair of first-place finishes and participated on a winning relay team during a non-conference meet contested at Franklinton High School.
Hamilton claimed first in the 100-meter hurdles (18.84 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (54.04). She ran the second leg on the Warriors' 4x2 relay that crossed the line first in 1:56.9. Joining her were Samiya Blount, Lucretia Boykin and Tiayana Barnes.
Barnes, Taniyah Oates, Treycie Ford and Kianna Haywood combined to claim first in the 4x1 relay with a time of 56.84 seconds. Ford also won the triple jump (33 feet, 0 inches). Amari Brigman secured first in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet, 1 inch.
On the boys' side, the Warriors' foursome of Junious Tyson, Marlon Lewis, Isaac Crossland and Matthew Askew-Betts seized first in the 4x1 relay in 46.44 seconds. Tyson, Crossland, William Smith and Marcus Rouse combined to take the 4x2 relay in 1:37.5.
Yeonte Royal won the high jump (6-4). Lewis recorded the top distance in the long jump (19-7) and Quadrez Lassiter took first in the shot put (38-10).
