SOFTBALL: East Wake, Goldsboro combine for 31 runs

Amber Pfennig doubled and tripled during Goldsboro's 20-11, non-conference shootout against East Wake Academy on Friday evening.
Pfennig ended the night 3-for-5 with an RBI.
Dakota Jones (RBI), Matti Rose Lyon (RBI), Abby Allen (two RBI), Marcy Taylor (two RBI) and Addie Shirley (two RBI) cranked out two hits apiece.
Riley Howell (RBI), Nikki Olmsted (RBI) and Grace Tart each had one hit. Howell also had a stolen base.
Taylor threw all seven innings inside the circle for Goldsboro. She gave up nine earned runs, walked five and struck out two. The Cougars committed seven errors.
