AWARDS: Wayne Christian's winter sports athletes recognized

Wayne Christian concluded its winter sports season with an awards ceremony that recognized athletes in eight different sports.
The award winners were:
* Varsity boys' basketball: Most Improved -- DJ Waters; Coach's Award -- Tyler Weeks; Christian Leadership -- Logan Jackson; Offensive Player-of-the-Year -- Darrian Oates; Team Leadership Award -- Rayshawn Wellington, Martaye Sembly.
* Varsity girls' basketball: Most Improved -- Abigail Harrelson; Coach's Award -- Raven King; Christian Leadership -- Payton Jackson; Co-Most Valuable Players -- Kasey Norris, Emma Harbuck; Defensive Award -- Ashlee Harrelson.
* JV boys' basketball: Most Improved -- Dean Thornton; Coach's Award -- Jeremy Bentley; Christian Leadership -- Jaylon Wallace; Offense Award -- Blake Tinker; MVP -- Jaydon Young.
* Middle school boys' basketball: Most Improved -- Paul Rose; Coach's Award -- Charles Williams; Christian Leadership -- Blake Easom; Co-MVPs -- Zion Davis, Parker McIlvaine.
* Middle school girls' basketball: Co-Most Improved -- Emma Bauer, Lauren Mitchell; Coach's Award -- Kaylee Martin; Christian Leadership -- Hayli Verme; Defense Award -- Olivia Sutton; MVP -- Brianna Verme.
* Varsity swimming: Co-Most Improved -- Holden Shook, Lorin Darden; Co-Coach's Award -- Jadin Worling, Paige Court; Co-Christian Leadership -- Maddox Johnson, Christine Thornton; Co-MVPs -- Stephen Whitfield, Anna Rendall.
* Varsity cheerleading: Most Improved -- Kendall Leigh; Co-Coach's Award -- Summer Rose, Anna Mills; Christian Leadership -- Sarah Brogneaux; MVP -- Kaylin Darden.
* Middle school cheerleading: Co-Most Improved -- Victoria Miller, Caroline Grady; Coach's Award -- Annalise Fitzmaurice; Christian Leadership -- Saylor Johnson.
