GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Rosewood's Daniels flirts with double-double

HERTFORD -- Hannah Daniels just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Rosewood upended Perquimans 44-42 in opening-round action of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs Tuesday evening.
Daniels also picked the Pirates for five steals.
Sophomore Braylee Butts logged 14 points, three assists and five steals. Senior Payton Lane posted 10 points and seven assists. Senior forward Nekia Williams provided five points, nine rebounds, six steals and one blocked shot.
Rosewood (16-11 overall) travels to Roxboro Community on Thursday -- a rematch of last year's eastern semifinal won by RC.
