DUDLEY -- Samiya Bess of Southern Wayne scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough to push Southern Wayne past ECC 3-A/4-A rival J.H. Rose on Friday evening at the Halo.
Caroline Summerlin and Machiah Moore both had seven points for Southern, who fell to 8-13 overall this season and 2-7 in league play.
Next up for SW is a home tilt with D.H. Conley on Tuesday.
