GIRLS' BASKETBALL: New Bern knocks off CB Aycock

NEW BERN -- Cassandra Lassiter drained the nets for a team-leading 19 points, but Charles B. Aycock remained in search of its first Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference win this season after a 58-43 loss to New Bern.
Lexi Edmundson registered 15 points. The senior, along with Lassiter, combined to shoot 7 of 12 from behind the 3-point line. Mookie Powell contributed seven points.
Arlanda Faulkner pulled down seven rebounds. Lassiter, Powell and Victoria Patnaude snared five caroms apiece.
Powell dished out nine assists.
The Golden Falcons (7-9 overall) visit county rival Eastern Wayne next Friday.
