* Boys' basketball: Spring Creek 53, Lejeune 23 -- JaVon Newsome knocked down 10 points in the Gators' home win Wednesday evening. Demartae Bizzell supplied nine points. SC plays host to Jones Senior on Friday.
* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro 69, Rocky Mount Prep 56 -- Tyjuon Barnes put 26 points in the scorebook during the Cougars' road win Wednesday evening. Al'Tivon Williams delivered 15 points. De'Juon Harper and Jyrei Thompson registered nine and eight points, respectively. GHS entertains Eastern Wayne on Friday.
* Girls' basketball: North Lenoir 37, C.B. Aycock 19 -- Taylor Gay led the Golden Falcons' offensive attack with seven points. Sharon Moorefield added five points. Morgan Casey, Jordan Shockey, Madeline Patnaude, Dassani Jackson and Shi Speight also scratched in the scorebook.
* Boys' basketball: North Lenoir 43, C.B. Aycock 34 -- Jacari Outlaw emerged as the Golden Falcons' top scorer with 10 points. AliJuan Moore chipped in seven points.
