SNOW HILL -- Five Charles B. Aycock grapplers each posted an unbeaten record during a non-conference tri-meet with Greene Central and Beddingfield on Tuesday evening.
Joshua Wallace, Chris Parks, Austin Doyle, Tyler Hughes and Canon Barrett each went 2-0 for the Golden Falcons. CBA handed GC a 48-33 loss and upended Beddingfield 54-30.
However, the Golden Falcons won just 5 of 16 contested individual bouts.
"The term 'ugly win' definitely applied tonight," CBA head coach Brian Doyle said. "Give both Beddingfield and Greene Central credit. Their wrestlers simply out-worked ours (on the mat). It was as simple as that, and we're fortunate for the forfeits or we could have easily been 0-2 on the night."
Aycock returns to action Saturday in the USAF Eagle Invitational at Rosewood.
