BASEBALL: Warriors' Wells verbally commits to High Point U

Eastern Wayne baseball standout Tanner Wells verbally committed to High Point University late Tuesday evening.
The senior helped lead the Warriors to 13 wins and an appearance in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A playoffs last spring. He logged a 2.92 earned run average (ERA) in 52.7 innings of work and retired 38 opposing batters on strikeouts.
Wells batted .257 with 18 hits, 15 RBI and two home runs.
