Middle schools
* Football: Grantham 34, Eastern Wayne 0 -- De'Zhar Howell led the Bulldogs' ground attack with three touchdowns that covered 19, 35 and 50 yards. Mark Graham provided two TDs. Trayvon Callahan and Trey Roa each had a two-point conversion. Defensive leaders -- Terquavis Butler (interception) and Graham (two fumble recoveries). Grantham (4-0 overall) travels to Brogden next Wednesday. Danny Stewart led EW with 64 yards rushing. Jamin Jacobs accounted for 70 yards of total offense.
* Football: Norwayne 54, Brogden 0 -- Clay Matthews completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Ashton Perrozini. Tylil Faison, Omar Tucker, Troy Deleon and Styles Kendall supplied one rushing TD apiece. The Cobras' defense held the Rams to negative yardage on offense for the game. NW's leaders on "D" were SJ Harris, Harrison Hansen, Christian Moore and Chris Ellis. The Cobras (3-1 overall) entertain Dillard next Wednesday.
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Grantham 26-24, 25-17, 25-22 -- Alyssa Smothers doled out seven aces during the Eagles' three-set sweep. Makenzie Amodeo contributed four kills and four aces. Rosewood (6-1 overall) plays a doubleheader at home today against Dillard.
* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Spring Creek 25-6, 25-22, 25-16 -- Alissa Price and Virginia Edmondson combined for two blocks. Price served two aces, while Taylor Smith had one. Spring Creek (6-3 overall, 3-1 WCMSAC Division I) plays a doubleheader at Dillard today.
* Volleyball: Wayne School of Engineering d. Greenwood 25-13, 25-15 and 25-11, 25-9 -- Hallie Brown paced the Titans' offense with six service aces. Haley Phillips and Anna Miranda provided six and four kills, respectively. WSE (5-5 overall, 2-3 WCMSAC Division II) entertains Mount Olive today.
