BOYS' SOCCER: Neuse Charter rolls over Rosewood

CALYPSO -- Dario Castenada logged a hat trick (three goals) and recorded an assist North Duplin rolled past Rosewood, 9-4, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game at H.E. Grubbs Field on Wednesday evening.
Juan Garcia punched in two goals for the Rebels, who rose to 5-8-1 overall and 4-6-0 against conference opposition this season. Teammates Rafa Lopez, Wilber Velasquez, Eliel Aguirre and Gustavo Velasquez provided one goal apiece.
Castenada and Henry Silva each had one assist.
"It was a battle," ND head coach James Foster said. "We were able to extend the lead in the second half off of solid runs by Dario and Juan. These two work well together when they make runs on the opposing team's goal."
Daniel Aburto converted two penalty kicks and finished with three goals for Rosewood. Stalen Massengill knocked in one goal.
Hayden Maldonado and Geo Abrill each had one assist.
Rosewood (7-10-0 overall, 3-9-0 CC) entertains Neuse Charter today.
