VOLLEYBALL: CBA defeats S. Central, earns No. 1 3A seed from ECC

WINTERVILLE -- Arlanda Faulkner pounded out 24 kills and recorded a .618 hitting percentage for the match as Charles B. Aycock rallied past South Central 21-25, 25-9, 26-24, 25-22 in a pivotal Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference affair Wednesday afternoon.
Faulkner took 34 swings and committed just three errors.
Cyerra Carter (four blocks) and Daelyn Brock contributed eight and seven kills, respectively, as the Golden Falcons (16-5 overall, 5-5 ECC) secured the No. 1 playoff seed from the 3-A portion of the ECC.
Hannah Carter notched a double-double -- 34 assists, 26 digs. Cassandra Lassiter led five CBA players in double figures with 31 digs. Faulkner had 21, followed by Tanika Powell (20) and Brock (14).
The Golden Falcons had 113 digs as a team.
Aycock plays host to New Bern today.
