Bella Bowen and Samantha Roux each emerged victorious in singles action as Eastern Wayne dropped a 6-3 decision to J.H. Rose on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene Tuesday afternoon.
Bowen claimed a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Mary Tate Tearney at the No. 5 flight. Roux dropped one game in a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Katie Edwards at the No. 6 slot.
Roux-Emily Stratton prevailed at No. 3 doubles.
Darkness and a 45-minute rain delay prevented the teams from completing a suspended match from earlier in the season. EW head coach Craig Hassell said the team will travel to D.H. Conley on Thursday, then stop at Rose to finish two singles matches.
Rose led 4-0 when weather suspended play.
