PREPS DIGEST: JV, middle schools

JV

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Eastern Wayne 22-25, 25-16, 25-14 -- The Eagles' offensive standouts were Laine Marak (one service ace, two assists), Riley Jo Meyers (two assists), Alana Atwell (one kill, one dig), Maddie Honn (one kill, one block). Rayven Smith led the Warriors with three kills. Ziomara Williams, Demya Yelverton, Paige Neiman and Haley Taff each collected two kills. Yelverton and Taff each served three aces. Williams, Smith, Neiman and Justice Jones each logged two aces. Smith had two solo blocks. Vondalyn Swain dished out seven assists.

* Volleyball: C.B. Aycock d. Beddingfield 25-17, 25-9 -- Sophomore Daelyn Brock emerged as the Golden Falcons' offensive leader with seven kills. Sophomore McKenzie Norris delivered three kills, served two aces and handed out six assists. Victoria Patnaude registered two aces. Freshman Anna Girard posted two solo blocks.

* Volleyball: Goldsboro d. James Kenan 25-18, 25-9 -- Nadia Coles had five aces for the Cougars. Grace Tart and Nikki Olmsted combined for eight kills and nine aces. Olmsted had six digs defensively. Garyn Taylor had 10 assists. Goldsboro improved 2-0 overall this season.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Christ Covenant d. Wayne Christian 17-25, 25-18, 15-4 -- The Eagles scored 13 consecutive points with Harper Cate Flowers on serve in the opening-set win. Wayne Christian (0-1 overall) entertains Wayne Country Day on Friday.

* Volleyball: Wallace-Rose Hill d. North Duplin 25-18, 25-22 -- The Rebels play host to Lejeune on Thursday.
