Moore has signed with Cestistica Civitavecchia, a city located on the country's western coast. The club plays in the Serie C Regionale league.

"Playing professional basketball has always been a dream of mine since I was young," he said in a statement.

"Now that I have achieved this dream, it seems surreal."

"I would like to thank everyone involved with Immaculate Training Services for helping me land my first contract. I would also like to thank my family and the University of Mount Olive for helping me realize my dream," said Moore.

"Lastly, but most importantly, I would like to thank God because without him none of this would be possible."

A 6-8 forward from Magnolia, North Carolina, Moore was a 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball All-Tournament selection.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association bestowed its awards recently, and tabbed members of the UMO men's and women's tennis teams as worthy recipients.

Both squads were honored in the All-Academic category for 2016, with both finishing the year with a combined GPA of 3.2 or higher. It is the third year in a row both teams have been recognized in such fashion.

Mulan Bartz, Paulina Delgado, Stella DiMichele, Alejandra Hernandez and Nicole LaChappelle were named scholar-athletes by the association. Hernandez is a three-time selection, while DiMichele is a repeat honoree.

On the men's side, Sherzod Akramov, Jacob Clarke, Jose Cortijos, Martin Moser, Martim Sousa and Yannic Stark were all selected for recognition. The honor is Akramov's second.

Individuals must attain a GPA of 3.5 to be honored by the ITA.

"We are very proud of our teams' academic accomplishments this year. Not only do we want to succeed on the court, but, most importantly, we want to succeed in the classroom" said Mount Olive Men's and Women's Tennis head coach Kevin Coghill.

"It is evident that there is a winning correlation between being good in both areas. When student-athletes want to strive to be good in everything they do, those are the type of people we want here at the University of Mount Olive."
