Rosewood softball hammers out mercy-rule win

Keelin Hunter pounded out four hits and drove in two runs during Rosewood's 18-8, six-inning triumph over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Lakewood on Wednesday evening.
Braylee Butts contributed three hits and an RBI. Kaitlyn Kincaid (RBI) and Kiandra Taylor (two RBI) collected two hits apiece. Shayla Marak batted 1-for-2 with an RBI, and she was plunked by the Lakewood pitcher during her final plate appearance on senior night.
Kaley Hilton batted 1-for-2.
Kincaid permitted eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and sat down seven Lakewood batters on seven strikeouts.
Rosewood travels to Spring Creek today with third place -- and a state playoff berth -- on the line.
