Spartans shut out Chargers on soccer pitch

WILSON -- Smithfield-Selma handed Wayne Country Day a 4-0 loss on opening-day play at The Brittany on Friday evening.

It was the Chargers' second straight shutout loss.

WCDS (1-2-0 overall) returns home next Thursday against Ahoskie Ridgecroft.
