Parrott topples WCDS in boys' tennis

KINSTON -- Unbeaten Arendell-Parrott Academy handed Wayne Country Day a 7-2, non-conference loss on Thursday afternoon.
Sam Dively claimed the lone singles point for WCDS with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over William Hill at the No. 1 flight. Dively and doubles mate Preston Edwards picked up an 8-2 decision at No. 1 doubles.
Parrott secured the overall outcome in singles play.
Earlier in the week, WCDS handed Wayne Christian a 9-0 loss.
Dively, Edwards, Hunter Hawkins, Young Wang and Charlie Dees each picked up a singles point. Dively-Edwards and Hawkins-Dees triumphed in doubles play.
WCS forfeited the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles flights due to having just five players available for the match.
