WCDS girls fall to Trinity Christian of Fayetteville

Trinity Christian of Fayetteville dominated from the opening tip and defeated Wayne Country Day, 64-6, on Tuesday evening.
"That was just a tough one," Chargers head coach Claude Waters said. "Coming out, we knew it would be a tough game for us. We knew how strong they (Crusaders) were as a team."
Trinity Christian recorded 16 steals in the first quarter and 34 total as it built a 24-0 lead after one quarter.
Two minutes into the second quarter, Lillian Freeman sank a 3-pointer. Hannan Heal swished two free throws.
Freeman made a free throw with three minutes remaining in the third quarter, but the Crusaders continued robbing the Chargers of the ball.
WCDS remained scoreless in the fourth quarter.
"We (Chargers) made a lot of quick decisions with the ball," Waters said. "Too many telegraph passes that were easy to be stolen. You still have to compete irregardless if it is 100-1. I don't allow quit in our program."
