Portela leads Heat with double-double

Gavin Portela dropped in 22 first-half points and finished with a double-double during the Goldsboro Heat's 54-45 triumph over Wilmington Cardinal on Tuesday evening.
Portela dumped in a season-high 37 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Heat, which improved to 7-6 overall and 6-3 in NHEAC East Division play. Cameron Yarbrough had 10 points and five steals.
Goldsboro visits Wilmington on Friday and plays host to Alamance on Saturday.
