Late turnover lifts Lakewood boys past Spring Creek

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Lakewood converted the game-winning shot with five seconds left and slipped past Spring Creek, 68-66, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game contested at "The Swamp."
The Leopards held a 12-point lead with three minutes remaining in regulation. The Gators answered with a 14-2 run and tied the game at 66-66 on Dominique Morse's reverse layup.
SC gained possession with 20 seconds to go, but turned the ball over.
Morse paced the Gators' offense with 22 points. Najee Young contributed 19 points and Landon Smothers knocked down 14 points.
Spring Creek (3-13 overall, 2-5 CC) entertains Hobbton on Tuesday.
