* Girls' basketball: Southern Wayne 41, C.B. Aycock 18 -- M. Moore paced the Saints with 17 points, while Zaria Coleman contributed eight points. Kania Slocum and Morgan Casey recorded six points apiece for CBA.
* Boys' basketball: C.B. Aycock 48, Southern Wayne 41 (OT) -- Tayquan Hampton emerged as the Golden Falcons' top scorer with 18 points. Marquez Farmer delivered a 13-point effort. Kamarion Graham and Damone Greenfield supplied six and five points, respectively.
* Boys' basketball: Spring Creek 73, Hobbton 61 -- Xavion Garcia knocked down 21 points in the Gators' road win. Allen Hickman added 19, while JaVon Newsome chipped in 14.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: Rosewood 47, Dillard 43 -- Townsend Tripple led the Eagles' offense with 16 points. Dhimani Fenty scored nine, while Davien Thompson had five. Rosewood improved to 4-2 overall this season.
* Girls' basketball: Dillard 53, Rosewood 13 -- Ania Sands paced the Tigers' offensive attack with 16 points. Dyamond George chipped in 10 points, while Zeanya Jones scored nine. Ikenya King and Shayla Greene supplied eight points apiece. Dillard (6-0 overall) returns home Jan. 5, 2016 against Brogden.
* Girls' basketball: Grantham 46, Mount Olive 11 -- Morgan Kennedy led the Bulldogs with 10 points. Grace Tart contributed eight points, while Alissa Meadows scored six. Mount Olive's Carla Senatos and Selena Oates combined for nine points. Grantham (3-2 overall) won its Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference Division II opener. The Bulldogs entertain Rosewood on Jan. 7, 2016.
