SALEMBURG -- Rosewood's boys emerged as the top-finishing team in the 800- and 1,600-relays during a Carolina 1-A/Four County 1-A/2-A meet contested at Lakewood High School.
The 800 quartet of Alex Godwin, Dalton Farmer, DeVonte Phillips and Montonio Wheeler posted a time of 1 minute, 41.5 seconds -- two seconds faster than runner-up Union. The same foursome claimed the 1,600 relay in 3:49 -- one second ahead of Hobbton.
The two relays have qualified for the season-ending state meet.
Josh Jernigan claimed the pole vault and teammate Alex Godwin, who won the 55-meter hurdles, placed second. Senior Zack Hinnant did not participate since he has already qualified for the state meet.
Kendra McCoy finished second in the girls' 300-meter dash with a personal-best time of 49.2 seconds. Kiandra Taylor emerged as the girls' shot put winner with a personal-best toss of 26 feet, three inches.
Rosewood returns to action next Wednesday at Princeton.
