PINE FOREST -- Rosewood freshmen Timothy Decatur-Luker and Jordan Todd emerged as individual champions in their respective weight classes during the annual Feud in the Forest hosted by Pine Forest High School.

Decatur-Luker opened tournament action with a 63-second fall over Millbrook's Quentin Merritt in the 106-pound class. He earned a 7-1 decison over Terry Sanford's Dallis Simmons in the semifinals, and claimed the goal medal in the finals whe Jack Britt's Kevin Wanovich exhausted his allotted injury time.

Todd started his day at 126 pounds with an 88-second pin of Harnett Central's Hunter Waddell. He easily defeated Grey's Creekk's Andrew Easterly, 9-1, in the quarterfinals and pinned Fayetteville Westover's Samori Husamudeen 15 seconds into the third period.

Todd wrapped up his gold-medal performance by pinning Wilson Hunt's Poncie Yim with 23 seconds remaining in their championship bout.

"This is always a very tough tournament for us," RHS head coach Bill Edmundson said. "Even with the team we had last year, we only had one person the finals -- Josh Drew. This year we were without two returning state qualifiers and had two champions -- Timothy and Jordan.

"Both of these young men were in youth programs and come to us with a lot of experience."

Edmundson also cited the efforts of Jayden Thomas, Louis Tortual and Seth Finney. The Eagles placed 11th overall in the 20-team field with 65 points.

Rosewood continues dual-team competition Tuesday at Raleigh Ravenscroft and Wednesday at the I-95 Duals, which is hosted by Northern Nash.
