* Girls' tennis: Wayne Country Day 8, Kerr-Vance Academy 1 -- The quintet of Nancy Chen, Hanna McKeithan, Cady Stanley, Martie Rose and Grace O'Daniel combined for five singles points, which sealed the overall outcome in the Chargers' final match of the season. McKeithan-Stanley, Rose-Chen and O'Daniel-Diya Shreenath each earned a doubles point for WCDS.
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 5, Freedom Christian 2 -- Marquise Newell punched two goals for the visiting Chargers. Nehemiya Shaw, Cooper Edmondson and Drew Barnes provided one goal apiece. Drew Barnes, Cam Gerrard and DJ Drew each supplied one assist. Wayne Country Day concluded the season 14-0-1 and posted 10 shutouts. The Chargers' defense yielded just eight goals on the year.
Middle schools
* Football: Mount Olive 32, Eastern Wayne 16 -- The Chargers' Jamari Leach rushed for three touchdowns. Jalen Thompson returned a fumble 55 yards for a TD. Defensive leaders were Devonza Faison, Tyre West and Leach recorded five tackles apiece. Mount Olive (5-1 overall) faces Dillard at home next Thursday.
