Faulkner's 15-kill outing lifts Aycock past Southern Wayne

PIKEVILLE -- Sophomore Arlanda Faulkner cranked out a team- and match-high 15 kills and served five aces during Charles B. Aycock's 25-7, 25-15, 25-13 conquest of county and Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rival Southern Wayne on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Alexis Bynum contributed seven kills. Sophomore Hannah Carter supplied five kills, 13 digs, three aces and eight assists. Jamilla Jackson notched a match- and team-leading seven aces.
Cassandra Lassiter passed out 11 assists. Sydney Schmeltzer emerged as the Golden Falcons' defensive leader with 15 digs.
As a team, CBA registered 34 kills, 18 aces, 59 digs and 27 assists.
The Golden Falcons (9-6 overall, 3-4 ECC) travel to D.H. Conley next Tuesday.
