PIKEVILLE -- Corinth Holders raced to a 28-point halftime lead and cruised to a 56-19, non-conference victory over Charles B. Aycock at Hardy Talton Stadium on Friday evening.

"Corinth played way better than us," CBA head coach Steve Brooks said. "We want to build our program like they have built theirs."

Caleb Gough led the Golden Falcons' rushing attack with 61 yards on 21 carries. Quarterback Jake Flowers completed 18 passes for 164 yards, including touchdown tosses to Luke Frederick (4 yards) and Tyrique Ford (11 yards).

Chandler Matthews pulled in eight passes for 84 yards.

The Golden Falcons (2-3 overall) are off until Oct. 2 when they open Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play at home against Southern Wayne.
